Weekend box office ?Rio? rolls, ?Scream? underachieves

The early predictions of Blue Sky’s “Rio” hitting $50 million may be WAY off, if Nikki Finke’s Friday night figures are to be swallowed whole.
Based on Friday’s numbers, the animated bird-toon is headed for $38 million. But Saturday is the make or break day for children’s films. I expect her estimate to go up tonight.
